Port Coquitlam Snapshot

Disgraced Port Coquitlam Mayor Scott Young will run for re-election next month – as a councillor.

Young was convicted of assault and breaching an undertaking not to contact his ex-girlfriend. Young was sentenced to a one-year conditional sentence, followed by probation for assaulting two people and breaching a recognizance order.

He stepped down from the mayoral chairfor about a month, saying he had to address “alcohol problems.”
